Congratulations to Alison Twelvetrees, a post-doctoral fellow in molecular neurobiology at the University of Pennsylvania, who submitted the best image to our recent geeky photo contest. The brief was to capture fleeting, candid scenes of the world of science that were informative, humorous or merely beautiful. Alison snapped this bird's eye shot, entitled 'The World of My Experiment' in, she says, "the windowless microscope room at the University of Pennsylvania".

Judging from the number of tubes in her ice bucket, we suspect she was in there for some time! Thanks to Alison for sharing a glimpse into her universe.
